North Dakota Hunger Free Gardens
Healthy North Dakota joins with other ND organizations to encourage gardeners to grow an extra row North Dakota Hunger Free Gardens initiative will help connect those who grow vegetables and fruits to those who experience food insecurity. The goal is to grow and distribute a minimum of 500,000 pounds of fresh food to North Dakota’s 244 food pantries. The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is leading this effort to help North Dakotans gain access to fresh, healthy and great-tasting North Dakota produce to protect against chronic diseases such as stroke, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers.
